Kodansha USA to Publish Sailor Moon Manga

March 18th, 2011

Anime News Network reports that Kodansha USA has announced that they plan on publishing the Sailor Moon and Sailor V manga.

The week began with Utena, ends with Sailor Moon and once again, an odd-numbered year is coming up strong for Yuri. Weird, huh?

Wow. This is one of those things that I just assumed would never happen. Great news for a whole new generation of fans.

Although now I guess that means there will be a presumption that the Anime anouncement is next, regardless of cause.

  2. @Jst – Hahaha. You’re very probably right. ^_^

  3. I hope that we’ll get a much better English translation.

Yes, I am definitely buying the first book.

I’m wondering if they are releasing the entire set at once or just one by one starting in September?

Regardless, this has significantly brightened my day. For the rest of the week. And then some.

You’ve said it before, but I suppose this proves it! I’ll be looking forward to the manga release, but one can hope that this will entail the TV series at some point afterwards. It’s the one classic anime that I’ve missed out on but would love to make up for it.

Fingers crossed for the exceedingly unlikely UK release :D

I have about 10 of the TokyoPop/Mixx versions, plus quite a few of the monthly issues that came out too. Having also bought a fair number of the new Japanese releases, I am really happy to hear that Kodansha USA will re-release the manga in English. Such great news! :D I’m hoping they leave it in the left-to-right format, instead of flipping it?

PS: I also have the Japanese volumes of the Sailor V manga. Sooooo looking forward to reading this without a Jap dictionary….lol
