This totally made my day! Aoi Hana is my absolute favorite manga, and I love Takako Shimura.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, both JManga and ALC!

It’s good to see that digital manga is expanding, but do you know if some series in JManga are still region-locked?

Have you been following the Japanese ebook scene? I know that ebookjapan.jp has a pretty good selection (although not from all publishers), but there might be other places I have missed.

  3. @WanderingSon – There are a few manga on JManga that are region-locked by the specific request of the publisher. As far as I know, Love My Life is the only Yuri book to remain Region-locked.

I have downloaded a very few Japanese ebooks, but not too many. I do report on any Yuri-related titles that I find in my Yuri Network News reports. If you know of any, please feel free to let me know!

ebookjapan has published many books from Yuri Hime, see: http://www.ebookjapan.jp/ebj/tag_genre.asp?genreid=30081

And if you are wondering if it is legit, you can see that even Kodansha is linking to their site: http://dbs.kodansha.co.jp/pr/20110728.html

Woohoo! I was elated when I saw that JManga would release “Aoi Hana”. It’s enough for me to at last want to try their service. I adore “Wandering Son” and I’ve been craving this series since I started it. Takako Shimura seems to have a wonderful way with material like this and I’m really excited to see how she handles it.

    Very, very excellent news.

Who’s the japanese publisher for Aoi Hana? Can I get excited yet or the region restriction will make me dissapointed? :(

  7. @Gustavo – The author is Shimura Takako, who also creates Wandering Son.

If you have questions about JManga service, it’s always best to ask them directly, but my understanding is that this is a global title – and so are all others going forward unless the publisher specifically demands that not be true.

    Thanks for your answer, Erica.

I contacted them months ago about Love my Life still being restricted and only got a default answer. Maybe is time to ask again.
