YNN_LissaYuri Manga

Kita Konno’s Onna no ko no Sekkeizu came out last month from Hirari comics. I apparently forgot to tell you. ^_^;

Comic Yuri Hime July 2013 issue (コミック百合姫) is up for preorder. Also from Comic Yuri Hime,  “Yuri novel” is Amai Yubisaki (あまいゆびさき), by Takagi Ayako, with illustrations by Rokuichi.

“Homosexual love is a demerit!” begins the teaser for a new series, Loveliest Treasoner. (ラブリストリズナー). (Many, many thanks to YNN correspondant Jamie Lynn for going to a bookstore and uncloaking the English title for me. I was totally stumped! That’s above and beyond, Jaimie!) Anyway, it’s running in Mangatime Kirara Miracle, another of the 7835 Mangatime Kirara books. It takes place  in a girls’ school where there is a written policy against same-sex relationships, so of course, Yuri.

Leia Weathington gives us a sneek peak at some of the roughs for her Bold Riley Volume 2 cover.

    ‘Shin Sekai Yori From the New World’ does have Yuri, if Yuri is two females dating/having sex while one of them is thinking deeply about one of the male characters while they are together. (SPOILER): In the story one of the girls later marries one male character and is expecting a child while earlier the other girl lives with and has a child with another male character. As far as I am concerned, this is not Yuri. You used to write of wanting to see women loving women which is what I look for now in Yuri anime and manga now. I suppose I developed a standard which means there is even less Yuri to enjoy.

    • Hi Jin – Thanks for clarifying that. That is my standard for what I want, but realistically, it’s not what we get all that often. But we do get it more than we used to. ^_^

    Mind, “From a New World” is set a thousand years in the future where humans with mental powers have all become potential weapons of mass destruction and society is supposed to have become overtly polysexual as part of the defensive mechanisms … yet the girl/girl and boy/boy pairings end up being like practice relationships before two primary boy/girl pairings toward the end. Its seems that its easier to sketch more sweeping changes in info dumps and then stick to more familiar tropes in the plotline of the story.

    But I mainly comment to say that its available streaming to North and South America, UK, Ireland, the Nordic countries, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.
