Yuri Manga

Today’s top news comes from Seven Seas and represents the very wrongest I have ever been about a Yuri title in my whole life. ^_^ Seven Seas has licensed Nagata Kabi’s My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness. I haven’t had a chance to read it, yet, but I’ll bump it up on the review pile. The news is a double-fisted bit of good news, because our friend Jocelyne Allen is working on the translation!  The English edition has a June 2017 release date.

LGBTQ Comics

Lauren Bullock over at Black Nerd Problems has offered up the Five Queer AF Comics Starring Black and Brown Women and I’m just standing behind her nodding enthusiastically. I’m a huge fan of Agents of the Realm (and fangirled all over Mildred at Flamecon!) and Ari North’s Always Human.

And via YNN Correspondent Elizabeth F, James Whitbrook’s passionate request that Marvel do better at LGBTQ representation on io9.

If you read this blog regularly, I know you love good lesbian fiction and I’m not joking when I tell you this is some of the best I’ve ever read. So please get in there and back this project! That’s fantastic. I heard about My Lesbian Experience With Loneliness recently, read the scanlated chapters available and it’ll be it in my next Amazon Japan or CD Japan order. May as well get the licensed version as well next year.

I can’t speak to how well it represents the actual experience of depression or lack of identity/purpose, but I found it a gripping and powerful read. I look forward to finishing it when I get the book.
