Yuri Anime
We begin today with an ANN report on a series from Comic Cune (of which I have reviewed an issue or two.) The ever-so -vaguely Yurish Pan de Peace!, with cute girls hugging each other cutely and a bakery setting, is getting an anime.
Crunchyroll has that news that Sentai Filmworks has licensed Bodacious Space Pirates: Abyss of Hyperspace for Blu-ray and DVD. I haven’t seen this yet, and am looking forward to it! Even more awesome, Sentai has licensed the extraordinary Den-Noh Coil. A lot of folks are going to be happy to see that licensed!

Other News
ANN reports that Hagio Moto’s early BL classic, Poe no Ichizoku, is getting a live-action series on Japanese TV.
Graham Kolbiens and Anne Ishii have launched an awesome Kickstarter called Queer Japan to create a documentary on Japanese lifeLGBTQ . It will feature out manga artist Tagame Gengoroh among other visual artists.
I want to end this with a reminder that Konno Oyuki has a new series about friends whose relationship become something more in college. Friends is a light novel from Shueisha. You *know* you want to read it. ^_^

Not to the comments here, please, or they might be forgotten or missed. There’s a reason for this madness. This way I know you are a real human, not Anonymous (which I do not encourage – stand by your words with your name!) and I can send you a YNN correspondent’s badge.
Thanks to all of you – you make this a great Yuri Network!
Do you think Friends would be released in English? I’ve noticed that lots of Japanese novels are officially being released in English. Some of them are tied with anime but others are novels. I know that the Maria watch over us novels are only in Germany, so could that happen with this book?
I don’t have an answer for that. The novels you’re seeing brought over by Yen are from other publishing companies. Shueisha has shown no interest in licensing novels in America.
