YNN_LissaYuri Anime

YNN Correspondent Grisznak wants you to know that the opening theme of Akuma no Riddle is available on YouTube.

YNN Correspondent Jin H. also has some Akuma no Riddle news:  Funimation has picked up the series, and are streaming it, as is Nico Nico Douga and Crunchyroll.

YNN Correspondent Vivi C.is excited to let you know that school life anime Kiniro Mosaic is getting a sequel.

YNN Correspondent Jst wants to share the news from the official Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha site, which “announced the other day that all three series are going to get a Blu-ray release in Japan from October of this year (MGLN 10/1, A’s 11/5, StrikerS 12/3).  Whether this means, like with the movies thus far they will be including English subtitles or not we don’t know as yet.”. StrikerS with official subtitles would be something I’d definitely pay for. ^_^

YNN Correspondent Elizabeth F points out that following on the heels of the recent successful Sailor Myu, another new Sailor Moon Musical is on the way! And keep your eyes peeled on the upcoming Nico Nico Douga event, at which, it is rumored we’ll actually get a preview of the anime!

In case you haven’t yet had a chance, you have 3 weeks left to help make the third and final DVD box set for Riyoko Ikeda’s Dear Brother a reality.

Comics News

Topping the industry news this week is the fact that Amazon has just bought digital comics vendor Comixology.

The Don’t Be a Dick series takes on The Gender Dynamics of Marketing Comics.

PBS Idea Channel has this lovely video: How is Ms. Marvel Changing Media for the Better? It’s totally worth a watch.

That’s a wrap for this week! Become a Yuri Network Correspondent by sending me any Yuri-related news you find. Emails go to anilesbocon01 at hotmail dot com. Not to the comments here, please, or they might be forgotten or missed. There’s a reason for this madness. This way I know you are a real human, not Anonymous (which I do not encourage – stand by your words with your name!) and I can send you a YNN correspondent’s badge. Thanks to all of you – you make this a great Yuri Network!

We’re already after two episodes of Akuma no Riddle and after first episode of Inu x Neko. Akuma seems to be surprisingly watchable anime, finally good mix of Yuri and action, something you rarely see in modern series. As for Inu x Neko… Shortest and more stupid version of “Sakura Trick”.

Akuma no Riddle is a series that i’m loving so far. I hope it gets a nice boxset cause i want to own it. Now if only Hayate X Cross Blade would get an anime, then my action Yuri fangirl heart would burst with joy.

  3. Michael says:

Akuma no Riddle doesn’t seem to be available in Crunchyroll for me. I live in the US, and when I search for that title, the Crunchyroll web page replies:

Sorry, due to licensing limitations, videos are unavailable in your region.

Could those who _can_ watch the show tell me where I should move?

    • Apparently there’s some issue with Funimation streaming it in N/A, so while CR says they ought to have it, they clearly do not. You can watch it on Funimation for the moment, and do consider writing CR and asking what’s up.

      • DezoPenguin says:

CR specifically announced that they have it Europe (parts only–*not* Germany, UK, Ireland, and Scandanavia), the Arab League, and the Middle East. As Erica said, Funimation has the streaming rights in North America. The problem with that is, it’s only available to their Elite subscribers. (Hopefully, there’ll just be a one-week delay for the general public the way CR does, which is something Funi has also done in the past, but I guess we’ll find that out on Tuesday.)

        • BruceMcF says:

Yes, Funimation has started advertising “Elite” members (subscribers) getting simulcasts one week earlier as a premium feature, so that should be a regular thing going ahead.

Also note that Fuji Creative seems to harbor odd ideas of which countries qualify as German speaking countries, since all of Benelux appear to be included under their standard definition of “German speaking country”, when counting the Netherlands and even more Belgium as German speaking countries is silly.

At three minutes InuNeko actually works pretty well for me. It’s precisely an animated 4-koma, and it doesn’t outstay its welcome.

The 日本語 seems relatively easy to parse too, probably because it is pretty much a moving 4-koma :)

  5. Grisznak says:

By the way, anyone here follows Blade and Soul? Not sure if there will be any Yuri, but fantasy, 95% female cast – there are chances for Yuri hints, I think.
