It’s not *quite* what I hoped, but the continued quality of the entire series is so generally elevated over…well, everything…that I’m inclined to be forgiving. ^_^
We’ve met Hotaru, and had some time with Kaolinite, yay! Eudial, you came and went and we hardly knew ye, but I can’t wait to spend time with you in the original anime.
I hope you all enjoyed the most crowded secluded mountains ever and this:
And this:
And then we got this:
And then we wrap up with this:
Which is about as good as it’s going to ever get in Sailor Moon.
So one more grin-making episode of what is turning out to be a really lovely season.
Ratings:
Overall – 9 Better than I expected, not *quite* what I hoped
Now that we’ve established that when pandering is for us, it doesn’t suck after all, we can settle in and watch the rest of the story develop! ^_^
The only thing bothering me is how much more time has to be spent pretending Haruka is a guy. It’s something that might’ve seemed necessary in the 90s but seems kind of backwards now.
It will go one for one more chapter of the manga. She will then kiss Usagi and tell her that it shouldn’t matter whether she’s a boy or girl. Michiru will say that she has the heart of a boy and girl (which American fans vastly misinterpreted, being unaware of Safire from Ribon no Kishi. And then it basically will never be mentioned again.
Based on chatter I’ve seen of late, American fans are still wildly missing the reference… ^_^;
No surprise there.
Are you against fanfiction?
I’ve written hundreds of fanfics myself and I am adamantly in favor of derivative fan works (cosplay, fanfic, fan art, AMVs and the like.) There is a place for all of it. But there also have to be attributions and an understanding that we do not own the copyright or have a right to make money from these works.
