Nona the Ninth Day

September 14th, 2022

No review today, Nona the Ninth has arrived!

If you haven’t already read the previous Locked Tomb novels, I hope you will. They are very in the exact wheelhouse we care about here on Okazu. Here are links to my previous reviews:

Gideon the Ninth.  the first part of this, ギデオン 第九王家の騎士 上, is also available in Japanese, now. ^_^

Harrow the Ninth was astounding.

Now I’m off to read Nona. I’ll catch you later! ^_^

Late August and early September have been: third reading of Gideon, second reading of Harrow — followed by a two hour Cliff’s Notes Youtube video summarizing both books in preparation for the release of the third. This video clarified the twists and turns of Harrow that even the second reading left me confused by, and inspired yet a third reading of Harrow just to see the pieces fit together so neatly.

    It was worth it.

But now I’m taking a rest before tackling Nona.

I know you’re not an audiobook person, but I recommend you sample Moira Quirk’s (the narrator of all three audiobooks) work on Gideon. The reading is magnificent.

    • I actually am into audiobooks, I just don’t have the time any more! When I drove a lot more than I do, I consumed thousands of audiobooks. ^_^

In this case I agree wholeheartedly, Quirk did a great job. My wife and I listened to both last year. I started Nona yesterday, but am going slow so I catch more.
