We are down to the last two days on the Dangerous Women kickstarter and very close to the first stretch goal!

If you have already backed this project, or just can’t manage it this time, please share the link with anyone and everyone! Every bit of help is important.

13 fabulous stories about lesbian supervillains – surely everyone wants that in their holiday gift pile. ^_^

The project has some amazing writers (and good friends to us here at Okazu and Yuricon!) including Paige Braddock (Jane’s World,) Leia Weathington (Legend of Bold Riley,) Jude McLaughlin (Wonder City Stories,) Tristan J. Tarwater (Hen and Chick,) Barbara Ann Wright (Pyramid Waltz, Coils), JD Glass (Red Light, Punk Like Me) and Mari Kurisato (Guns of Penance), plus loads of other writers you should definitely get to know.

Yuri Manga

From Minamoto Hisanari (creator of Fu~Fu) Season Theater Theatrical, Volume 1 (シーズンシアターシアトリカル), which is running in Comic Cune is hitting shelves at the end of the month. This is a saccharine-sweet story of a bunch of women trying to run a small theater troupe.

Comic Yuri Hime for January 2017 (コミック百合姫2017年1月号) is up for pre-order. Let me remind you that as of this issue, the magazine is going to be monthly.

Card Captor Sakura News

The Card Captor Sakura franchise is getting a “big” announcement next month, according to ANN. The new manga is in full swing with Sakura, now in middle school, having dreams and her friends and she finding and defeating all-new cards. An anime for the series is planned, as well.  I know what *I* want it the new be – and what I think it is. What do you think? ^_^

The first CCS movie is also get theatrical releases in Japan, Crunchyroll reports. Check out the trailer on YouTube

Live-Action News

ANN has the report on a live-action movie of long-running manga Haikara-san ga Touru, a manga set in Taisho Period about a tomboy, Benio, who has shockingly modern ideas about women’s worth and clothing and abilities. Sounds fun. ^_^

Yuri Manga

Today’s top news comes from Seven Seas and represents the very wrongest I have ever been about a Yuri title in my whole life. ^_^ Seven Seas has licensed Nagata Kabi’s My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness. I haven’t had a chance to read it, yet, but I’ll bump it up on the review pile. The news is a double-fisted bit of good news, because our friend Jocelyne Allen is working on the translation!  The English edition has a June 2017 release date.

LGBTQ Comics

Lauren Bullock over at Black Nerd Problems has offered up the Five Queer AF Comics Starring Black and Brown Women and I’m just standing behind her nodding enthusiastically. I’m a huge fan of Agents of the Realm (and fangirled all over Mildred at Flamecon!) and Ari North’s Always Human.

And via YNN Correspondent Elizabeth F, James Whitbrook’s passionate request that Marvel do better at LGBTQ representation on io9.

Ichijinsha’s got a pile of stuff coming out, including collection like  Tsutsui’s Jackpot ni Hohoende (ジャックポットに微笑んで) Mimoto’s Yutasan ha Mamanaranai!, (ゆたさんはままならない!), Sunao Kasuga’s Sumedo Jigoku no Inferno, Volume 2, popular Pixiv artist Tokuwotsumu’s Shuuden de Kaesanai, Tatta Hitotsu no Houhou (終電で帰さない、たった1つの方法) and Kodama Naoko’s Zankou Noise Perfect Volume (残光ノイズ).

From Kodansha, the second volume of HaruYuri (ハルユリ) by Nanatsu Tsubaki hit shelves this week.

There’s a new Yuri mook which has a fairly questionable title, Yuri no Sekai Nyuumon (百合の世界入門). It has content by Yuri creators, such as Canno and Kuzushiro, at least. It includes has an interview with Morinaga Milk and art by many of your faves. Check out the gallery of art from the book over on Comic Natalie.

Yuri Games

Christine Love, creator of popular indie game don’t take it personally babe, it just ain’t your story, has a new game, the BDSM-focused Ladykiller in a Bind. This is an actual erotic story about BDSM and consent, by and for adults. Gamasutra has a good overview of Ladykiller, and Ana Valens takes a look at the hypocrisy of the game ecosystem on Steam that allows games with school girls having sex, but not consensual queer adult BDSM games.

Industry News

I came home last night to find this news – Kodansha has acquired Ichijinsha. The publisher of Comic Yuri Hime will now be a wholly-owned subsidiary of one of the three largest publishers in Japan. What that will mean for Comic Yuri Hime is as yet unknown, but consider that negotiations must have been going on for many months and Ichijinsha has planned for Comic Yuri Hime to go monthly in 2017. It may mean something and it may mean nothing for us. We’ll have to wait and see.  I found the article on Comic Natalie, but here is ANN’s writeup in English.

Yuri Manga

ANN has the scoop on the newest chapters heading our way of Rose of Versailles, which is moving quickly towards a 45th anniversary. The two new chapters will follow Marie Antoinette.

ANN also tells us that the Akuma no Riddle manga is coming to an end this winter. It is available in English in print from Seven Seas and in digital format on Global Bookwalker.

Events

LGBTQ Comics Consortium Prism Comics will be bringing great LGBTQ comics to  Stan Lee’s Comikaze in Los Angeles on October 28-30 and New Jersey Comic Expo in Edison, NJ on November, 19-20. Contact Prism if you want to volunteer some time!

Yuri Anime

Crunchyroll will be streaming Sound! Euphonium 2, according to Crunchyroll News.
