I’ve been promising this for some time, but at last I have set up a tentative schedule for our 2020 Online Yuri Panel.
On May 27th, 2020 4:00 PM EST, we’ll be doing an Okazu Patron-only access for live test. This will include me doing the setting up of my “film studio” and goofs, so Okazu Patrons will get back stage access and have a chance to see me flail around with lights and screens and moving my furniture, as well as think about questions for the panel. ^_^
On May 31, 2020, Time TBA – we’ll be running a public access Yuri panel, open to all! Come with questions. I’ll be talking good stuff to read and watch, and industry commentary.
I hope to see you all there, of course and look forward to seeing all our Okazu patrons there!
The end of last month, we officially kicked off our 100th Anniversary of the Yuri Genre series with what I hope will be a saturation of articles, interviews and podcasts.
Don’t miss our once-in-a-lifetime 100th Anniversary Japan Tour. Seriously, this is the coolest thing we have ever done. Okazu Patrons get a discounted deposit fee.
Speaking of the perqs of patronage, Okazu Patrons have been given an exclusive sneak peak of a new chapter for the Big Book ‘o Yuri (still not its official name, but it makes me laugh). Become an Okazu Patron and get a look at Yuri Magazines and Anthologies, Part 1.
And check out our new headline banner here on Okazu. How spiffy is that? Thanks to our brilliant designer and web guru Lissa for this lovely anniversary rendition of our Okazu mascots.
Help me celebrate this important anniversary – contact me if you’d like me to speak as part of your event, organization, school or podcast!
Welcome to 2019! We’re starting the year off right away with a brand new podcast on our Okazu Patreon, thanks to my new computer, which has functioning audio recording. (That was part of why we went so long without a podcast, the other part was that I was lazy.)
I start this podcast with a look back at two trends in Yuri from 2018 and why they may not mean what we think they mean, and then I look forward to what they might actually mean for us in 2019.
Please take a listen to Yuri in 2018, Yuri in 2019 on the Okazu Patreon. Thanks very much to our Okazu Patrons for supporting this and making it possible to bring you Yuri reviews and news! If you enjoy all our work here on Okazu, please consider subscribing to our Patreon.
$5/month will give us the chance to support more Yuri artists, attend more events and and pay for more guest reviews! In the meantime, enjoy our first podcast of the year!
Today is the final day to Support Okazu on Patreon and receive an invitation to our exclusive Patron Online Holiday Party! Bring your own cake, but the friendship and prizes are real! We’ll be talking about Yuri past and present and there will be a trivia contest in which you can prove your prowess in Yuri obscura and minutiae. ^_^
Here’s what you get for your money: 4-6 Yuri reviews a week, 1 weekly Yuri News Report, paid Guest Reviews, Event Reports, Interviews, Sneak Peeks at ongoing work, mention on the Okazu Hero Roll, a shitty badge, the undying appreciation of the Yuricon and Okazu community and myself. ^_^
Just $5/month cam make a huge difference to the work we’re doing! That’s even more fun than a Happy Meal for around the same price. Thanks in advance and we’ll see you at the party!
It’s Thanksgiving here in the United States and as is my wont, I would like to take time to thank all of you, my Okazu readers, commenters, guest reviewers, and correspondents. You are the reason Okazu has continued now for 16 years. Thank you all for everything.
In addition, I want to once again take time to thank my Okazu Patrons and invite all of you to a special Okazu Holiday Party online! We’ll be chatting about Yuri, you’re going to get the scoops on the Yuri projects I’ve been working on (and some of the inside news on what happens and why) and there will be a trivia contest and real prizes!
In order to receive an invitation, all you need to do is be an Okazu patreon by November 30, paid through December. We’re about $10 away from our month goal of $500, so if 10 of you kick in a buck each a month for 2019, we’ll be just where we want to be! I hope you’ll consider helping us out here – we have a lot of things planned for next year – more events, more Lucky Boxes and more reviews!
Once again, I want to thank you all – you’re all an important part of of the Okazu family. I am very thankful to have all of you in my life.

Please do not email or comment asking for or posting links to scanlations or fansubs. Okazu readers overwhelmingly support the artists, writers and publishers of Yuri by buying anime and manga series in English and Japanese.
