Yuri News This Week – June 27, 2009

June 27th, 2009

Yuri Anime

Katherine is once again jazzed to let you all know that there are not one, but *two* trailers for Aoi Hana on the website. She hopes you’ll all pop over and watch.

Good news, everyone! Looks like, after the issues Funimation was having with their streaming anime, Air Master, which is not hardly simulcast, but was pulled along with the rest of the Funi TV titles, is back up online.

Yuri Manga

Coming soon from Yuri Hime S, moe Yuru Yuri, Hakamada Mera’s Kono Onegai Kanau Nara, the Nekodome Saga and Minus Literacy will all be hitting the shelves in July.

Also out from Yuri Hime Comics, is the reprint of Pure Marionation, Volumes 1,2 and 3. This is an older series by Takagi Noboyuki that Ichijinsha’s re-releasing because it’s more cute, pink-cheeked Yuri with lots of bathing, same as all his work. :-)

And good news on the Ame-iro Kouchakan Kandan front. The new projected release date is also in July. Let’s keep our fingers crossed – but let’s not hold our breaths. :-)

Short report this week, because I am on my way to New York City to join a number of LGBTQ comic artists, creators and publishers to celebrate Pride in the way we like best – by talking about comics!

  1. I nearly died a fangirls’ death over the anime trailer for Aoi Hana. And the voice cast–a lot of newbies, save Horie Yui.

Though that’s a nice change; there have been a lot of new talent around lately, in anime in general. The notorious Queen’s Blade got the Yuri seiyuu all-star treatment, but I’m a little intrigued to see what this new cast will do for Aoi Hana, especially considering that a J-Drama actress shall be voicing Fumi.

I always find these non-seiyuu VA who do roles bring something fresh and untouched to a role.

So, ameiro will come sometime this century. Nice.

Now the only question is: will YH17 actually appear on amazon, ever?

Can’t find it on Amazon at all. I want to know how SP and Creo and Ameiro continue =(

  3. Yuri Hime typically doesn’t show up on Amazon JP until about a week or so before the release date. Look for it after July 10, since the official release day is July 18.

  4. Sigh. So this is what the future holds. Watching anime via online flash video with bad buffering and a watermarked company logo imprinted on the bottom right of the screen. Oh, don’t forget the bad interlacing issues that plague the videos.

    Grr!

Really? I ordered the last two about a month before release, that’s why I was confused.

But thanks for clearing it up, will have patience now. =)
