Maria-sama ga Miteru News

Just to recap the news earlier this week, the First Season of Maria Watches Over Us has begun streaming (legally, for free!) on RightStuf/Nozomi Entertainment’s YouTube channel. A chance to fall in love with Yumi and the Yamayurikai all over again. :-)

Bruce McF has started a thread on ANN about Marimite streaming and he’d like everyone’s help in keeping it at the top of the pile, so feel free to weigh in with you’re own version of “squee!”

For folks wondering if the live-action movie is going to be all that, Anonymous writes in with a link to the movie trailer. If you’d like to look at photos of the cast and pictures of the scenery (and who wouldn’t?) here’s the movie homepage. Bizarrely, the trailer isn’t up on that, yet. I think it looks like it’s going to be good – and fun, because Yumi is really laying the ‘deer in the headlights’ act on with a trowel. ^_^

Yuri Manga

Ichijinsha has some manga coming out I hear. Hakamada Mera’s Kaichou to Fukukaichou, Yoshitomi Akihito’s Futari to Futari, and let us not forget Morishima Akiko’s Renai Joshika.

Also on the shelves this month is one more volume of Yuri Hime S, Volume 14, the last before the big merge.

In October, among other things, there will be a new volume of Yuri Shoujo, which is not sucking and has some talented artists, so you should get it.

And among the hosts of manga arriving in October is Sasamekikoto, Volume 7.

After four Volumes total, Comic Lily/Comic Lily Plus is suspending publication. It’s rough out there – only a small audience, and a lot of competition for their money right now.

Yuri Anime

For completists, the Simoun DVD Box Set will include loads of extras, even more than the surprising loaded original DVDs. This is available in Japanese only.

That’s a wrap for this week.

Become a Yuri Network Correspondent by sending me any Yuri-related news you find. Emails go to anilesbocon01 at hotmail dot com. Not to the comments here, please, or they might be forgotten or missed. There’s a reason for this madness. This way I know you are a real human, not Anonymous (which I do not encourage – stand by your words with your name!) and I can send you a YNN correspondent’s badge.

Thanks to all of you – you make this a great Yuri Network!

    Thanks for all the news Erica! Work has been so dreary this week, so the Marimite news (movie and series) was just the right pick-me-up.

    This gives me a chance to introduce *cough*indoctrinate*cough* some more friends to the series. (I no longer loan out DVDs after The Incident)

    Thanks for all your hard work.

    ::HUGS::
