Yuri Events
Rica Takashima is combining two of her interests and running a Yuri Drawing Salon in Brooklyn, NYC with Touhou x Figure Drawing at Yumebk. ^_^ This is a paid event to help defray costs of hiring the studio, and will feature Yuri couple poses! The standard fee is $20 for 2 full hours, student fee is $10. Reserve a spot today, space is limited.
This week I am on vacation and then Anime NYC is upon us! ANYC is my favorite event, even if getting to or staying in NYC is so expensive (T_T) but I love seeing everyone. I’ll be at the Manga Mavericks / Independent Manga Alliance, Table 2028 table, to sell and sign my By Your Side: The First 100 Years of Yuri Anime and Manga from 11:30-1 on Friday, 11:00-1:00 and 2:30-4 on Saturday and 12:00 – 1:30 on Sunday! And I’ll be hosting the Manga Mavericks Panel on Friday at 3:30! Drop by, meet creator of Horon of the Closed Country, Sen – she’ll be signing special posters and books at the table as well!
The same weekend as ANYC, Japanese Yuri fans will be flocking to Comitia in Big Sight, in Tokyo to grab their favorite circle’s Yuri! Galette WORKS announced a release at Comitia, Sakuraya Yukino’s Kimi to Aoi to Haru no Kakera (君と青と春の欠片).

On Bluesky, Seven Seas says that Volume 3 of I Won’t Let Mistress Suck My Blood is out now.
Seven Seas also announced the license for It’s a Secret, Shirotae-sama by YUKIKO, about a human at a Vampire academy.

Yuri/GL Light Novel
Via Manga Mogura on X, we’re getting Goodbye, Lara Official Light Novel. There is some controversy about the author – the complaints are that that they have written comphet. I don’t see that as problematic, just “not what we want.” Disney had every right to not make Elsa a lesbian in Frozen 2, even if they had to twist the story into knots to do it. That’s what fanfic is for, anyway.

The National Art Center of Japan is hosting a gathering of giants with Shoujo Manga Infinity, a talk event with Moto Hagio, Ryoko Yamagishi, and Kazunori Yamato. According to the intro, this is the “first large-scale girls’ manga exhibition to be held at a national art museum.”
